Accommodation costs following childbirth

If, as a mother, you have to stay in hospital for medical reasons after the birth, your baby can stay in the hospital with you. If your baby is otherwise healthy, we will charge the accommodation costs to your health insurer. These costs will be fully reimbursed by the health insurer. Because children do not incur a deductible, the health insurer will not charge you for these costs.

If your baby has to stay at the hospital for medical reasons after the birth, meaning that you, therefore, as a healthy mother, also have to stay at the hospital, costs may be incurred. We charge your accommodation costs to your health insurer. These costs will be fully reimbursed by the health insurer. You will need to pay the compulsory deductible however.
